Hi, I’m Betty, and I used to eat one chocolate bar a day to survive – specifically Mr. Big.
I needed to break this habit so badly that I started to try every fad diet possible: the Atkins diet, the Weight Watcher diet and etc. I would count calories, I would stop eating fruits altogether (because for some people’s dietary choices, fruits are high in sugar), or I would restrict myself to only eating a diet of meat and more meat.
I became frustrated and irritated, because I wasn’t able to eat this or that – so I did what I did best, I would bounce back to eating unhealthy food.
Now, at 26, I realized that the term “diet” does not require you to stop eating specific food groups. Rather, the key to life is maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. I started juicing to flush out the ‘yucks’ and restore my body with whole food nutrients. Most importantly, I have learned that “happiness is an inside job”. What we put into our digestive system reflects our outlook on life.
But of course – I still have my occasional sweet treats and wine in moderation 🙂
